Library building committee approves CHA contract pending adequate town funding

misc · Meeting of February 11, 2026

BERKLEY — Library Building Committee votes unanimously to approve CHA contract pending town budget decisions. The committee approved a modified contract with CHA for owner's project management, with three cost-saving deletions bringing the overall cost to 60 to 70 thousand dollars. Committee members will provide site-visit services and coordinate advertisements, replacing contractor work.

The approval is contingent on the Town Board of Selectmen ensuring adequate library funding for FY 2026, as the committee discussed the appetite among townspeople for bearing the construction costs of a new building.
