BERKLEY — Joint Planning Board and Selectmen meeting examines economic development strategy. The kickoff survey drew respondents age 35 and older, with 97 percent Berkley residents identifying small business, restaurants, and grocery stores as top priorities. Five strategic locations were analyzed for preferred business types; the Myricks Airport area emerged as a candidate for light manufacturing and flex space, while the Berkley Common was proposed for a mixed-use village district with design guidelines and parking study.
Traffic, habitat loss, and pollution ranked as chief concerns about expansion.
