Berkley Board of Health denies one septic plan, approves three. At its February 10 meeting, the three-member board voted 2-1 to deny septic plans for 23 Water Street after consultant Nyles Zager found the design violated Massachusetts nitrogen loading regulations (310 CMR 15.214); Daniel Fournier and James Romano voted to deny, Patrick McCrohan opposed. The Board unanimously approved revised plans for 526 Berkley Street and accepted a variance for 90 North Main Street reducing leaching field to groundwater distance from 5 feet to 3 feet, with applicant Mark Mariano paying a $150 variance fee.
The Board also unanimously extended a perc test at 184 Bay View Avenue for one year and issued well permits for two Old Anthony Street properties.
