Board of Assessors approves vendor bills and explores succession planning.

misc · Meeting of January 20, 2026

Berkley Board of Assessors approves vendor bills and pursues informal succession planning. Chair Lisa Tetreault, Member Mark Pettey Jr., and Clerk Jeanne Russo voted 3-0 to approve payment of $300 to consultant Gary Hoitt and $165 for the BCAA Annual Meeting in December. Jeanne Russo reported the Board will informally identify and observe potential successors rather than create a formal appointed assistant assessor position, a strategy consistent with other communities facing similar staffing challenges.

The Board held the FY2026 Tax Classification Public Hearing later that evening with the Board of Selectmen.
