Berkley selectmen approve warrant opening, health insurance rate, audit firm authority
misc · Meeting of March 11, 2026
Berkley selectmen open warrant for June 1 annual meeting and approve 6.8 percent health insurance renewal. Chair Jennifer Vincent and Members Tabitha K. McCrohan and Mark Horsfall voted unanimously to open the warrant effective immediately and set the closure for April 22, 2026, at noon.
The board accepted the FY2027 health insurance renewal from MIIA Health Benefits Trust at 6.8 percent--well below the budgeted 16 percent--which still represents a six-figure increase for the town and schools combined. The board also authorized the Town Administrator to negotiate and execute an audit engagement letter for FY2025 and FY2026 services with a new audit firm and voted to proceed with surveying procurement for the Berkley Middle School sidewalk project using a $25,000 state earmark obligated by June 30.
