Berkley S.A.V.E. task force coordinates override outreach strategy at March 2 meeting. Chair Chris Sullivan and members Kate Simons, Nancy Thompson, and Rosanne Kulibaba approved prior minutes and assigned messaging duties: Simons and Kulibaba will draft website content outlining override costs, benefits, and long-term fiscal and growth strategy; Sullivan will post completed community forum videos to social media. Completed forums on Fire/EMS, Police, and Library identified staffing and training-cost challenges as common themes.
Three additional forums are scheduled for Council on Aging (March 21), Highway (April 2), and Municipal Operations (April 11). The task force framed the override as addressing urgent fiscal need while supporting mid- and long-term zoning reform and commercial development strategies to be implemented by the Board of Selectmen.
