Berkley Selectmen accept two resignations and waive building permit fee. The Board of Selectmen unanimously accepted resignations from Diane Maxwell of the Conservation Commission and Paul Megna of the Planning Board, and voted unanimously to waive the building permit fee for the Crosby-Couto Foundation's replacement fencing at the public basketball courts. Most of the April 22 meeting focused on Annual Town Meeting warrant refinement and override strategy.
Town Administrator Matthew Chabot outlined free cash appropriation plans covering a snow and ice deficit of roughly $181,758 and allocating roughly $140,000 for unemployment exposure in a no-override scenario. The Board scheduled a joint meeting with the Finance Committee for April 29 to finalize both override and contingency budget recommendations and confirmed a public override forum for May 5 at 6:30 p.m.
